6 months in Recruitment - What have I learnt?

It has almost been 6 months since I joined Lodestone Recruitment, time flies! I thought it would be good to write a blog post about some of the things that I have learnt from my time in Recruitment so far.
Firstly, recruitment is hard work, yet so rewarding. It is a job that sees you face rejection and hardship on all sides, however it is so amazing being able to help talented individuals navigate a growingly tricky job market, and connecting them with the fantastic employers that we work with. It is a great part of the job being invited into the happiness people have when they find out they have a new job!
Secondly, working with people that you get on with makes a huge difference! Nick has been an amazing boss, and has been great at helping me through the tricky waters of recruitment. He has been patient throughout all the questions I have asked, helped me when I slip up, and encouraged and rewarded me when I succeed. It is so refreshing being able to be myself at work, and get on with Nick so well. The only issue found however, is Nick’s allegiances with Liverpool FC (I am an Arsenal fan ☹).
One of the best things about working at Lodestone Recruitment is the charity initiatives that we get involved with. So far, we have supported the Archer Project as well as getting involved with the Master Cutler’s challenge. It has been a huge eye opener working with both of these great causes, and the differences that both the Archer Project and Sheffield Hospitals Charity make to Sheffield and it’s community is immense, and I would highly recommend you all to have a look at them and consider how you too could help and support them!
Over the last 2-3 months, I feel like I have settled more into my role, and am being to see the fruits of my labour. The honest and friendly approach instilled in me throughout my training has led to me learning how to connect the best candidates to their dream company, leading to me placing 5 candidates over the last 2 months. This approach is providing me with continued success, and I am looking forward to more joy to come! If recruitment is something that you and your company are struggling with, why not give us a go, and we can help grow and improve your team, and in turn help elevate your business!
So in conclusion then, whilst recruitment is full of highs and lows, I have loved every moment of it, and it has been fantastic working at Lodestone so far. I can definitely say that we provide a fresh outlook on recruitment, and can certainly help you with your recruitment needs! Why not give us a call, we would love to chat 😊
