We are currently recruiting for a local manufacturing business based close to the Parkway in Sheffield who have plans to double in size in next 5 years. Our client are looking to expand their team with the addition of an experienced Accounts Assistant who will take responsibility of the day-to-day running of transactional finance. If you’re someone with experience in accounts payable and accounts receivable, who’s looking to join a stable business where you can settle in for the long term, this could be the role for you!


What’s on offer:


  • Salary - £26-28k DOE
  • Regular days: Hours - Choice of either 8am-4:30pm or 8:30am-5pm Monday to Thursday and 8:30am-12:30pm Friday (35 hour week)
  • Permanent position

Main duties/responsibilities:
  • Experience using accounting software such as Sage or Xero.
  • Setting up payments on system.
  • Daily reconciliation of accounts on system.
  • Managing the credit control function
  • Monitoring debtor balances on a daily/weekly basis
  • Reporting on aged debtors on a weekly basis
  • Sales ledger processing including raising sales invoices and credit notes.
  • Purchase ledger processing
  • Posting purchase invoices received from suppliers
  • Adhoc administration duties (scanning/filing/telephone answering etc.)
  • Assisting Company Accountant in financial transactions.
  • A strong understanding of Microsoft Excel, dealing with spreadsheets, formulas.
  • Computer literate and confident in receiving and making phone calls


You will have:
  • Experience as an Accounts / Finance Assistant Administrator with ideally 5 years experience
  • A highly motivated self-starter with excellent communication and organisational skills
  • Good IT and administrative skills are essential.
