Lodestone Recruitment are currently working in partnership with a well-established heavy industrial manufacturer in the Leeds area to recruit an experienced Maintenance Electrician.
This is an excellent opportunity to join a stable engineering team with a strong engineering heritage. The role is within a busy production environment, offering strong and regular overtime and long-term career stability and progression.
The Role
Reporting to the Plant Engineer, you will be responsible for maintaining and repairing electrical plant equipment, working closely with production to minimise downtime and ensure operational efficiency.
Key responsibilities include:
- Carrying out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) to schedule
- Responding promptly to electrical breakdowns and fault-finding efficiently
- Ensuring all work is completed in line with current electrical standards and HSE legislation
- Working within safe systems of work and conducting appropriate risk assessments
- Supporting plant improvement projects, installations and upgrades
- Accurately recording maintenance and repair activities
- Collaborating effectively within the engineering team to improve plant reliability
- Managing your own workload to maximise machine availability
Candidate Requirements
- Must be apprentice trained as a Maintenance Electrician
- Recognised and accredited electrical qualifications and ideally be 18th edition trained.
- Previous experience within heavy plant, machine tools, furnaces, castings, or similar.
- Strong understanding of preventative and reactive maintenance systems
- Working knowledge of HSE regulations within maintenance
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively
- Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills
- Good communication skills and team-working ability
Package & Benefits
- Salary - £41,600 (rising to £52k with overtime available)
- Guaranteed overtime of 8 hours per week paid at enhanced rate (2 hour every day Monday to Thursday)
- Hours of work - You can choose 6am-2pm Monday to Friday OR 8am-4pm Monday to Thursday and 6am-2pm Friday
