Lodestone Recruitment is currently working with a well-established engineering company based in Barnsley, who is currently seeking an experienced Quality Co-ordinator to join their team.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a well established business, that specialises in structural steel.


The Role:


As a Quality Co-ordinator you will be responsible for


  • Assist with sustainability reporting and customer questionnaires related to ESG requirements.
  • Admin functions, data inputting, document uploads to various online portals.
  • Support the development and implementation of sustainability and environmental management systems (e.g. ISO 14001 where applicable).
  • Monitor environmental performance, including waste management, recycling, energy usage, and carbon footprint data.
  • Investigate non-conformances, customer complaints, and quality issues, supporting root cause analysis and corrective actions.
  • Assist with internal and external audits, including preparation, corrective actions, and follow-up
  • Monitor and manage quality documentation, procedures, work instructions, and records.
  • Support inspection and test plans (ITPs), material traceability, and certification requirements.
  • Work closely with production, welding, and fabrication teams to ensure quality standards are met on the shop floor.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives across quality and sustainability.
  • Assist in analysing data and KPIs to identify trends, risks, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Support alignment between quality and sustainability systems.



Key Responsibilities:


  • Experience in a quality, sustainability, or compliance role within manufacturing or steel fabrication.
  • Strong attention to detail and organisational skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with production and technical teams.
  • Confident using Microsoft Office, and quality management software.
  • Experience with environmental management systems (ISO 14001).
  • Knowledge of quality management systems (ISO 9001) and fabrication standards (e.g. EN 1090).
  • Experience with audits and corrective action processes
  • Knowledge of using PDF editor software
  • Knowledge of sustainability reporting or carbon reduction initiatives.
  • Internal auditor trained
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Proactive and solution-focused mindset
  • Able to manage multiple tasks and priorities
  • Comfortable working in both office and factory environments
  • Passion for quality, sustainability, and continuous improvement


About You:


  • Experience with steel and a background of heavy machinery and plant are desirable but not essential.
  • Full training will be given, but preferred qualifications would consist of Overhead Crane, Forklift Truck, Side Loader, and loading experience.
  • Basic understanding of steel processing, beams, plates, flats and angles.



Hours:
  • 37.5 hours a week.
Salary:


  • £33,000 - £35,000 per annum
