Location: Oldham

Salary: £45,000 – £55,000 (dependent on experience)

We are recruiting for a Technical Estimator to join a well-established manufacturing business in Oldham. This is a fantastic opportunity for an individual with a strong fabrication and machining background, who can deliver accurate and competitive quotations for projects in demanding sectors.

The Role:

As a Technical Estimator, you will:

• Prepare accurate cost estimates for projects within fabrication and machining.
• Interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications to determine costings.
• Liaise with customers to fully understand project requirements.
• Work closely with internal teams (engineering, production, and project management) to ensure quotations are realistic and achievable.
• Identify potential risks and opportunities within bids.
• Ensure all estimates are compliant with industry and customer standards.

The Person:

To be successful in this role, you will have:

• A strong background in fabrication and machining, preferably within medium to heavy industry.
• Experience working with sectors such as Nuclear, Aerospace, or Defence (preferred).
• Strong ability to interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
• Excellent commercial awareness with the ability to produce accurate, competitive costings.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
